From 2009–10 I was the programme manager for the Work Foundation’s ‘Good Work Commission’ research and policy initiative. This brought together leaders from the private, public and charity sectors to create a series of ‘provocation’ papers, with the aim of informing our understanding of the nature of ‘good’ work.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing independent research programmes tackling different aspects of the ‘good work’ concept.
- Conducting research and making written contributions to some of the published papers.
- Co-ordinating the regular meetings of the volunteer commissioners.
Testimonial
Sam Roberts is, quite simply, the most gifted project manager I have ever worked with. He combines great organisational efficiency, an ability to work well with all types of people, and an acute intelligence which he brings to bear on problems both intellectual and practical.
